16 YEARS OLD, WITH THE URGE TO BREAK BOUNDARIES IN THE BUSINESS WORLD

My whole life I’ve dreamed BIG. And I mean crazy big. I had no rules, no lines, no box, nothing. I’m an Aries, what can you expect from me…?!? I’ve never doubted myself and my dreams. I’m not here to waste time and waste my life. If I want something, I put it on my dream board and figure out how to get it. Nothing has ever seemed impossible to me.
That’s why I created Stripe Studio. I want to spread the message about the impossible. As you may have heard… the word itself says I’m possible.
All Stripe Studio products represent the crazy dreams and goals people have. I want to encourage everybody to do what they love. I want everybody to feel like they’re special just the way they are. They CAN and you CAN achieve anything that seems impossible.

‘‘YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY AND CREATE THE LIFE YOU DESIRE’’

Katrina Resne

I was in the 9th grade when I unexpectedly discovered that I somehow wanted to be a business owner. I mean… it was a bit expected, because I really was a just-do-it type of girl who really goes for whatever she want to achieve.

MINIMAL AND ELEGANT PLANNERS FOR 2019

In 2018 I came up with an idea to create a minimal and elegant planner. As there aren’t enough planners in the world… However, every idea comes from a personal struggle or dissatisfaction. For me, it was that in my home country all the planners were too colourful and full of everything you can possibly think of. Pink, flowers, muffin drawings, travel plannings, 30 day challenges etc. I am drawn to minimal, but editorial and clean design, and those planners weren’t it. So, of course! What do I do? Create my own.

Fortunately, I could do it with the help of my parents as I didn’t had the biggest savings myself.
And there I went… on the journey of developing the planner digitally, managing “Stripe Studio” Instagram and building an online store. Creating a physical product allowed me to understand the product market and develop knowledge about business and marketing beyond a 9th grader’s knowledge.

I always desire to put my “spice” to everything I’m doing. That’s why breaking the age limit was one of them. I achieved starting business at 16.

CREATING CUSTOM EARRING SETS

Here goes the next project… – custom earring sets. I actually don’t remember how I got into earrings so much… Maybe because I had just got my ears pierced and discovered the magical world of earrings.
Further more, this project was really not a success… Mostly because I ordered the earrings from a wholesale website with minimal knowledge about how to choose high quality earrings.

After that I planned the most amazing photoshoot which photos I actually still adore. However, the quality, as I mentioned, was not great. And I couldn’t sell something, if I knew it wasn’t INCREDIBLE. That’s just not me…

In the end, I got amazing photos, a bit of an inventory of the earrings (actually sold 2 sets of them) and learned my lesson… that I wasn’t made for earring business.

THIRD TIME’S A CHARM? – ONE IDEA THAT CAN DEVERT CLOTHING FROM GOING TO LANDFILLS.

Now… my 3rd try of creating an innovative and interesting product was way more exiting.

It came to me when I was in the “Junior Achievement Latvia” Leadership program. We had to develop an individual project. However, I wanted to build something for my future, to ensure myself long-term success.

Actually my journey to choosing this idea of creating eco-friendly clothing was even a whole other journey. I had about 5 ideas I could do, all very different. This project of eco-friendly clothing was the biggest, craziest, more time-consuming and the most expensive out of all of them. My intuition was the decision maker here, which really led me to the right path. Meaning… I really enjoyed doing everything to make this idea come true.

However, it is really important for me to create a product that isn’t made before; to create something special, original, exiting! And eco-friendly clothing already exists…

So there I were… in June of 2020 when a saying came to me after my mentoring session – from a DRESS to a ROSE. It was then and there when I knew – this was it. This was what I wanted to do – create a clothing that is safe to compost.

I feel like the story about how I even got to a finished product – dresses that are safe to compost – is a story for another time…
Definitely, coming soon to the Blog.

With Love,
Katrina, founder of “Stripe Studio”
